The Method: Path 2
Now that you understand the foundations for the Connect the Dots (CTD) Method, and you’ve learned Path 1 using your personal Gene Keys profile, it’s time to learn how to put Path 2 of the method into action! One step at a time…
Overview
By now, you’ve learned:
The overall CTD Method science-based philosophy and how it’ll help you get unstuck in any area of life
What The Gene Keys are and how/why they work to create change in your life
What Polyvagal Theory is and how/why it’s essential to retrain your brain and nervous system out of survival so you can thrive
How The Gene Keys and Polyvagal Theory connect and compliment each other to spark deeper and REAL lasting change
What the 8 Survival Archetypes are and how they are programmed to protect you, including their advantages to leverage as you move forward
How to use Path 1 of the CTD Method, using your personalized Gene Keys profile to guide you to clarity.
In this post, you’ll learn about Path 2 of the CTD Method. Both Path 1 and Path 2 can be used interchangeably, it’s not either/or. They’re just two different ways of approaching the same inner discovery and transformation process. In learning both, you may find that you prefer one path over the other. Trust your gut in following whichever speaks to you in the season of life you’re in.
Let’s review the difference between the two paths…
The Two Paths
Path 1: This path is for anyone who wants to use their personalized Gene Keys profile as their guidance system to find clarity, retrain survival patterns, and thrive. Because the Gene Keys profile is generated from your birth information and therefore, contains info drawn from planetary placements and astrological influence, this is a scientific and spiritual path to revealing and retraining your patterns.
Path 2: This path is for anyone who wants to use the 8 Survival Archetypes as their guidance system to find clarity, retrain survival patterns, and thrive. Because the 8 Survival Archetypes are based upon proven behavioral and psychological themes in human nature, this is a primarily scientific path to revealing and retraining your patterns with less of a spiritual focus.
As a reminder, I highly recommend learning about both of them first and then choose one path to commit to as you start to experiment with the method for the first time. Today, we are going to dive into Path 2!
CTD Method: Path 2
In Path 2, there are multiple steps to help you identify where you want clarity, which gene key to work with, and how to retrain your nervous system to create desired change. Let’s break down the general steps (more specificity to come in next post):
Focus: Identity the life area you want to change or find clarity in. Once you do, take a moment to get present to the challenge or situation you want to change —
Love & Relationships
Career
Life Purpose
Money
Health & Wellbeing
Identify Survival Archetype: Take the brief Survival Archetype Self-Assessment (SASA) to self-assess which survival response you’re defaulting to related to that area of life and specific situation you’re in. As a result, you’ll discover which survival type you’re most likely embodying.
Select Gene Key: Depending on your Survival Archetype, you’ll consult the Archetype Atlas [it’ll be linked in the next post!] to see the gene keys that are often associated with that survival response behavior. Using your intuition, choose the gene key that has a “shadow” word that most accurately reflects what you’re experiencing or feeling within you.
Survival Pattern: You’ll be guided to explore the “shadow” of this particular gene key and how its influencing your life experience.
Brain Retraining: You’ll be guided to embody the “gift” of this particular gene key using targeted brain retraining tools, practices, and experiences to shift your nervous system from survive to thrive mode.
Thrive Pattern: You’ll be guided to use the “siddhi” of this particular gene key as the aspirational state of thriving and safety that you want to access and sustain to thrive.
Integration
For now, simply take the Survival Archetype Self-Assessment (SASA) and see what archetype embodies the fear response you’re defaulting to in a certain area of life. Notice what’s already coming up for you simply by gaining this information.
In the next series of posts, you’ll receive access to the Archetype Atlas where you’ll learn which gene keys correspond to your archetype and ultimately how to explore your shadow, embody the gift, and access the siddhi of the gene keys in your profile using brain retraining strategies.
If you get caught up somewhere in the self-assessment and need help, bring your question to the chat thread. Odds are that someone else is wondering the same thing you are!
